Beside the river Saône, 20 km from Beaune, in the heart of historic Burgundy, Domaine de l’Oiseau is located in over 3 hectares of tranquil wooded parkland. Facing south-south-east, it enjoys maximum sun, which benefits its large swimming pool dominating the Saône valley as far as the eye can see.
But you will also find a retreat in the shade of age-old trees, with sets of garden furniture scattered around the parkland.
Its geographical location, where the wine country ("côte vineuse") and the Burgundian Bresse meet, lends it a particular charm, marrying the architectural, gastronomic and cultural features characteristic of winemaking with the more rural features of the Saône plain.
Former hunting lodge, then coaching inn, it also served as a lodging for the boatmen of the Saône.
Made up of a range of 18th-century buildings that frame a large inner courtyard, this layout long ago lent it the name of "Le Village".
